The racing action is about to heat up at the Casino Speedway with opening night just three short days away on Sunday, May 3rd at 7:00 p.m. Opening night is just one of 21 shows on the 2009 schedule. A racing season which promises to be one of the best ever in the history of the Casino Speedway.
Although every race night at the Casino Speedway is filled with excitement, four special events and an appearance by a veteran NASCAR driver highlight an action packed summer at the track. On Wednesday, June 17th the United States Modified Series takes to the track featuring NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace. On Thursday July 9th the DART WISSOTA Challenge Series Late Models invade the speedway, followed by the Legends Cars on Sunday, July 26th. The season raps on Saturday, September 12th, with the 2nd Annual Casino Fall Shootout which features some of the best late model, modified and street stock drivers in the region
The Casino Speedway has added a title sponsor this summer in ALLTEL Wireless who has contributed money into a special point fund. In addition to earning WISSOTA national points, 15 of the racing programs on the schedule will be included in the Alltel Wireless Challenge of Champions. It will reward the Casino Speedway driver (classes combined) who compiles the most track points during the designated races. The series is open to all drivers who wish to participate but is not mandatory. To participate in the series, a driver MUST adhere ALLTEL stickers on both sides of their car. The driver who accumulates the most points will be crowned the ALLTEL Challenge Champion.
In addition to a new title sponsor, it's been a busy offseason at the Casino Speedway. The drivers and fans will notice many changes to the track including updated track lighting (taller poles), a new pit area and corresponding pit access, expanded fan parking, a new concrete wall on the back straightaway and a new concrete Winner's Circle to name a few. But one thing that hasn't changed... admission remains $8 for adults and $3 for students each night with kids 7 and under free with paid adult.
