Makin' his Marko...
Jason Marko of Watertown held off current track points leader Wade Tirrel of White, to claim his first career Street Stock feature win at the Casino Speedway. Defending track champion Reed Storley of Watertown came in third. The two heat races were won by Chad Willmott of White and Watertown's Trevor Anderson.
Coming off his USMTS win on Thursday night, Scott Ward garnered another Casino Speedway trophy in the WISSOTA Modified A-main. Hard charging Joel Waba of Watertown finished second followed by Curt Kranz, also of Watertown. The modified heat races were won by Ward, Aberdeen's Kent Arment, and Chris Prussman of Brookings. Arment continues to hold the 2007 modified point lead; 31 points ahead of Darren Bistodeau of Brookings.
In the WISSOTA Late Model feature, Kent Arment finished ahead of Huron's Dave McDonald and the reigning late model champion and current points leader, Curt Gelling of Aberdeen. Scott Hansen of Garden City and Goodwin's Dean Mack rounded out the top five. The late model heat races were won by McDonald and Chad Becker of Aberdeen.
In the cruisers, Jason Grabow of Milbank, not only earned his fourth feature win of the season but snagged the points lead away from Marcy Rossow of Florence. Kranzburg's Alan Thiewes and Jeff McGuire of Watertown finished second and third respectively in the A-main. Another Grabow, Jeff from South Shore joined Jason as the heat race winners.
Racing continues next Sunday night with the Mid-Season Championship at 7 pm. A fireworks display provided by Lew's Fireworks will take place shortly after the racing ends for the evening. Come and enjoy the Fourth of July spirit courtesy of the Casino Speedway.
